NOTICE FOR JOURNALIST WHO WISHES TO VISIT ACEH (NAD) TO COVER THE NATURAL DISASTER

  • Please be advised that due to emergency situation caused by the earthquake and its subsequent tsunami in Aceh and North Sumatra regions, a journalist who wish to visit Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) to cover the natural disaster may apply for a journalist visa to visit Indonesia for up to 30 days through Indonesian Embassy in Bratislava.

  • Applicants are required to attach in their application form, the following: 

    • A letter of intent (in duplicate) from employer, which describes the purpose of the visit and guarantees all transportation and living expenses that will incur in Indonesia. 

    • A list of equipments (click to d/l form) (e.g.: camera, film, etc) that the journalist would be bringing into Indonesia (and bringing them out afterwards).  The list must be legalized/authenticated by the Indonesian Embassy/Consulates.  

  • IMPORTANT

    • The Visa is not valid to enter the other restricted regions in Indonesia: Papua and Maluku.  Such breaches to regulation may result in prosecution according to Indonesian law. 

    • Please be advised that NAD is a region with armed separatist activities.  The Indonesian Government may not be held liable and may not be able to guarantee the safety of the journalist.

Requirements for Journalist Visa 

  • Passport must be valid at least 6 months at the date of entry into Indonesia. 

  • Passport contains at least one blank visa page.  Amendment and endorsement pages cannot be used for visa purposes

  • Application form (in duplicate) must be completed and signed by the applicant.  The application form could be downloaded from the website: http://www.indonesia.sk/consular/visa_form.pdf

  • Two recent color photographs (passport size) on picture-quality paper.   

  • For those who are non Slovak citizen includes either: copy of Slovak Permanent Residence or Visa.
