Animal and Animal Products Importation to Indonesia

The Emergency Team of the Department of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, based on the report of the Office International des Epizooties (OIE) dated 4 January 2002, has announced the result of the eighteenth evaluation of the prevention measures against Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). The country status relating to the outbreak of the FMD can be put into three catagories:

I. Foot and Mouth Disease Infected Countries (Outbreak)

- No country is currently categorized as having an FMD outbreak.
- No importation of animals, animal products and certain products from these countries to Indonesia. 

II. Foot and Mouth Disease Endemic Countries

- Temporary import ban of certain products.

  • Argentina
  • Azerbaijan
  • Brazil
  • Peru
  • Malaysia
  • Turkey
  • United Kingdom
  • Uruguay
  • Zimbabwe

III. Foot and Mouth Disease-Free Countries

- Importation of commodities are allowed based on current technical requirements. 
- The FMD-free status is subject to periodical evaluation by the Emergency Team of the Department of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia.
