Indonesian Citizen Became Shooting Victim at
Virginia Polytechnic Institute, United States of America
The Department of Foreign Affairs
of the Republic Indonesia confirms that an Indonesian citizen,
Partahi Mamora Halomoan Lumbantoruan, was among the 32
casualties caused by the shooting incident at the Virginia
Polytechnic Institute and State University, United States, Monday,
April 16th 2007 (local time). He was a post-graduate student in
civil engineering at the University.
The Embassy of the Republic of
Indonesia in Washington DC has been working and coordinating with
the local authorities regarding the development of this case, and
will facilitate the return of the deceased body to Indonesia in
accordance to the wishes of the family.
The Government of the Republic of
Indonesia expresses its deepest sympathy and condolences to the
family members of the Indonesian victim, the Government of the
United States of America as well as the relatives who are directly
effected by the tragedy.
