Indonesia reckons Australia Travel Warning as normal

The Head of Public Relations Division, Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Sisno Adiwinoto stated that the Australian travel warning is something normal. The Australian Government issues such warning from year to year for their citizen. Inspector Adiwinoto added, with or without warning, Indonesian National Police always intensively dismantle and pursue the remaining member of terrorist cell. The Indonesian National Police have not only arrested the member of terrorists from military wing of the JI lead by Abu Dujana (captured recently), but also the head of other JI divisions responsible for ‘propaganda’ and ‘agitation’ activities, because those divisions are not less important than military division.

Inspector Adiwinoto give the statement in response to the Travel Warning Issued by the Australian Government. Previously Australian Foreign Minister Alexander Downer, stated that the terror warning in Indonesia was gathered from phone conversation from terrorist cell. Even though there were no concrete evidences yet form intelligent data about terrorist attack, Australia insisted that the threat is imminent.

Minister Downer admits that he didn’t have specific information about the targets, or the exact date of the attack. “However we have a lot of routine information about terrorist’s activities in Indonesia” Downer told Radio Australia. The arrest of the leader of Jamaah Islamiyah (JI), Abu Dujana, according to Downer has triggered tense inside the terrorist group.

The Travel Warning has been rejected by the Indonesian National Police. They confirm that the situation in Indonesia is currently safe.
