BALI, ONCE AGAIN, AWARDED AS THE BEST ISLAND IN THE
WORLD
Bali, for the six times in a row, awarded as the
best tourist island in the world by “Travel + Leisure Magazine” a
leading travel magazine in US. The award for Bali is received by
Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in New York, Trie Edi
Mulyani, on the reception, July 23, 2007, lead by Travel + Leisure
Chief Redactor, Nancy Novogord and the publisher, Juli Mc Gowan.
“We are very proud because Indonesia or Bali
received eight times award, six of them in a row” said Trie to
ANTARA, Tuesday, July 24, 2007 In all, Bali has been awarded for the
best Island in the world for eight times.
The inauguration of Bali as the best island in the
world is based on the poll done by the magazine to their readers,
focused on several criteria such as its natural attraction,
activities, tourist resorts, restaurant or food and the uniqueness
of its people and culture. This year, 2007, in the list of 10 best
island in the world, Bali is at the first place with 86,30 %. Second
to tenth place are Maui (86,22 %), Kauai (85,92 %), Galapagos
(85,92%), Santorini (85,82%), Vancouver Island (85,17%), Dalmatian
–Island Croatia (85,15%), Phuket-Thailand (84,15%), Hawaii (84,40%)
and Great Barrier Reef Islands (83,70%).
Besides the world’s best island, Travel + Leisure
Magazine, in the World’s Best Awards 2007, also awarded
Florence-Italia as the best City, Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur India
as the best Hotel, Singapore Airlines as the best airlines and Four
Seasons Resort Jackson Hole in Wyoming US as the best Spa Resort.
